The McKinley Library works cooperatively to support the learning of all members of our community. The library program promotes the love of reading, inspires curiosity, and cultivates the skills necessary for critical thinking, lifelong learning, and effective, responsible use of ideas and information.
The library is open daily during school hours and is managed by our librarian, Ms. Paula. All students are welcome to check out books during class visits, and students in grades 3-5 can also do so independently during open checkout times. In the library, students have autonomy to select the books that delight, inspire and support their particular interests. To learn more about our library, see a schedule of upcoming events and access our digital catalog, please visit: www.mckinleylibrary.org.
Our library was made possible with a major grant from the Carnegie Corporation. It was designed by architect Andrew Knox of Edelman Sultan Knox Wood / Architects LLP. Construction began in 2004; the library opened in 2005.
